Department of Veterans Affairs Releases Review of Memphis VA Medical Center

The VA Office of the Inspector General released its review of the Memphis VA Medical Center Tuesday afternoon.

Inspectors evaluated the hospital in early November 2014. According to the Department of Veteran Affairs' report, the review was conducted to evaluate patient care quality and care environment.

The report commended the Memphis VA's equipment processing center and advanced environmental control units.

Inspectors made recommendations including quality management, care environment, medication management, coordination of care, MRI safety, stroke care, surgery quality, and emergency airway management.

Six of the 27 recommendations made are complete. The rest are expected to be finished by the end of March.
